About Me
I was born in Arizona in the late 70’s. Growing up, my family moved a lot. By the age of 18, we lived in 10 places from coast to coast of the USA. Relocating often allowed me to experience and enjoy different cultures and lifestyles. I learned to be flexible and appreciate change.
After finishing high school, I enrolled in the University of Central Florida, where I studied computer engineering and business. During those years, my family and I talked about buying an affordable home and building equity, instead of throwing money away on rent. This made sense, but as a first-time home buyer, such a large purchase and commitment seemed very overwhelming to me.
I remember walking into a Century 21 office and meeting Barbara. She sat with me and explained all the steps of the buying process. She assured me that she’d be there every step of the way. She showed me homes in my area within my price range. Soon, my feeling of being overwhelmed was replaced with overwhelming excitement. I found the house I really wanted to call my home, and Barbara made the whole process a breeze. All the complicated papers at closing seemed simple, having her by my side 100% of the time.
At UCF, a good friend became a realtor. When we got together, he’d tell me how much he loved his new job. He was making new friends every day while helping families achieve home ownership. Everything about this seemed really interesting to me, and I decided to try it out. I went through extensive training classes to learn the laws and how to represent clients. My friend connected me with his broker. I worked hard as a Florida Realtor, always striving to give my clients the support that Barbara had given to me.
I was in my early twenties, thirsty for knowledge, and I loved working with homes. Being a Realtor had opened some doors for me. One door that opened was a connection with contractors. I loved the ability some contractors had to redesign old homes and create a totally modern layout without tearing the house down. I found myself thinking, “I could do that.” I went back to school, studied hard, and got my contractor’s license.
In 2008, I came to Hawaii to help a college friend renovate his condo in Aiea. While here, I met an amazing woman. I begged her to go out on a date with me. Since that first date, Jenny and I have been inseparable, and we’ve been married for over 10 years. When we met, Jenny was considering buying a home. I explained to her what I knew, and told her Century 21 had been a great company during my first home purchase. We ended up working with Melody at Century 21 Homefinders of Hawaii, and her customer service was as impeccable as Barbara’s.
Over the past 15 years, I have mastered the art of redesigning and renovating old homes. I continue to do renovations as the current president of Appreciating Homes, Inc. However, as I get a little older, I’m realizing my body may not be able to keep working in construction forever.
I’m proud to say that I’ve come full-circle. I look forward to helping others with my extensive knowledge of homes as a licensed Realtor, with Century 21 Homefinders of Hawaii. As a licensed Realtor, I have a fiduciary responsibility to assist all of my clients in every aspect of purchasing a home. On top of that, I’ve completed an extensive trainings, and I have access to all of Century 21’s incredible company resources. I now understand why their Realtors are so professional and successful. I love working with such a great team and I look forward to providing all of my clients with an outstanding experience. My unique background enables me to offer clients comprehensive support with purchasing homes, selling homes, and managing properties.
Whether you are buying a home, selling a home, or trying to find a property manager, I want you to know that I am here for you! Just as Barbara supported me and Melody supported my wife and I, I’m committed to being there for you every step of the way—before, during, and after the transaction.
